To convert other file formats to the "3D Model Format" file type, you need software like Lattice Technology VridgeR or a similar tool.
About DVX files
A .DVX file is primarily a Digital Mockup Validation file used by 3D CAD visualization software, such as Lattice Technology VridgeR and legacy Division-X DIVA software. These files store 3D models, geometry data, and validation markups, frequently used in the automotive and manufacturing industries for collaborative design review. In other cases, a .DVX file functions as an encrypted password database for Ascendo DataVault, or a diagnostic data export from AVL DIANE XT4 engine systems.
The main disadvantage of .DVX 3D files is their highly proprietary nature. They are closed-source and cannot be natively opened by standard web browsers or generic 3D modeling tools like Blender or AutoCAD. If the file is an Ascendo DataVault database, it is heavily encrypted, meaning data recovery without the master password or the original software is impossible. Engine diagnostic .DVX files are compressed archives, but the internal data structure relies on specific AVL software to be readable in a meaningful way.
Because of these strict proprietary lock-ins, standard online converters fail to process .DVX files. You typically need the original software to properly read or export the 3D data to standard formats like OBJ, STEP, or STL. However, just drag and drop your file onto convert.guru to identify the format, view its internal structure, and convert it if supported. If our analysis detects an underlying format like a ZIP archive (for AVL diagnostics) or a JFIF image (for CAD previews), viewing or extraction may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your DVX file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert DVX file to MP4, AVI, MOV, WMV, FLV, WEBM, MKV, M4V, 3GP, OGV, ASF or RM, you can use Lattice Technology VridgeR or similar software from the "Digital Mockup Validation File" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert MTS, MOV, RMVB, DIVX, RM, H264, TS, WMV, VOB, MP4, XVID or AVI files to DVX, try Lattice Technology VridgeR or another comparable tool in the "Digital Mockup Validation File" category.
The DVX Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our DVX converter.
