About DTL files
The .DTL file extension is most commonly used for data acquisition log files generated by National Instruments LabVIEW. These files store continuous sensor data, diagnostic information, and measurement logs. A secondary, but highly critical use is for CPF contribution details files mandated by the Singapore Central Provident Fund Board for electronic payment transactions. It is also occasionally found as a Creo Drawing Setup File using UTF-8 encoding by PTC Creo, and legacy Avid Deko video titling project files. You can open LabVIEW .DTL logs with NI LabVIEW, while CPF files require specific FTP portal setups from the Singapore government. The main disadvantage of the .DTL format is its highly fragmented and proprietary nature. A LabVIEW data log is structured completely differently from a CPF payment file or a Liebherr crane diagnostic log. These are typically raw data streams or formatted transaction strings that standard text editors or spreadsheet tools struggle to parse correctly without the original software. Users often hit a wall because they do not own the expensive, specialized software needed to read them, leaving the data locked and inaccessible. To make the data useful, you must convert .DTL files to standard formats like CSV or TXT for data analysis, or PDF for reporting and archiving. When converting, ensure that column headers and timestamp metadata are not lost. Standard online converters fail because .DTL is often a closed, proprietary, or highly specialized format. Usually, only the original software can properly read or export the internal data. However, drag and drop your file to convert.guru to see what it is and convert it if supported. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded text structure, viewing or extracting the data may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your DTL file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert DTL file to CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG, CONF, DAT, DB or SQL, you can use NI LabVIEW or similar software from the "Data Acquisition Logging" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to DTL, try NI LabVIEW or another comparable tool in the "Data Acquisition Logging" category.
The DTL Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our DTL converter.
