Extract text from Design files (DSG)

The .DSG file extension primarily represents two distinct formats: an embroidery machine design file used by Barudan machines and Wilcom EmbroideryStudio, and a kitchen and bath 3D design file created by 2020 Design Live. Embroidery .DSG files use a Microsoft Compound structure to store stitch coordinates, thread colors, and specific machine instructions. Kitchen design .DSG files are essentially renamed ZIP archives containing 3D spatial layouts, vendor catalogs, and rendering settings. Other less common uses include detached digital signatures from CryptoPro CSP or SoftForum XecureWeb, and CAD drawings by DDX Software.
Both primary formats are highly proprietary and notorious for creating workflow bottlenecks. You cannot open an embroidery .DSG file natively on Windows or macOS; it demands specialized software like Wilcom EmbroideryStudio, which carries a high commercial cost. Similarly, 2020 Design files require a heavy desktop application and active licensing to view simple room layouts. Sharing these files with clients, freelance designers, or manufacturers who lack the exact software version is frustrating and often results in unreadable files.
