About DOP files
A .DOP file is most commonly a sidecar settings file created by DxO PhotoLab (formerly DxO Optics Pro). It stores image adjustments, metadata, and non-destructive edits applied to raw photographs. A secondary, but notable, use for .DOP files is in industrial engineering, where they serve as HMI (Human Machine Interface) or PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) project archives for systems developed by Schneider Electric and Delta.
The primary disadvantage of the .DOP format is its proprietary dependency. In photography, a .DOP file does not contain actual image pixels; it only holds text-based parameters and sliders. It requires a paid license for DxO PhotoLab and the presence of the original RAW file in the same folder to be useful. For industrial users, the HMI/PLC versions are proprietary project archives (often utilizing standard ZIP or GZIP compression under the hood) that require specialized, expensive software like Vijeo Designer or CODESYS to compile or open.
Because these files are highly specialized, standard online converters fail to process them. You cannot directly convert a .DOP sidecar into a JPG or PNG without rendering the original raw file through DxO's specific photographic engine.
However, you are not entirely locked out. If you drop a .DOP file here, our system will inspect the internal structure. We can extract embedded content if it is an industrial ZIP/GZIP archive, or immediately display the underlying text data if it is a photo settings file.
Convert.Guru analyzes your DOP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert DOP file to CDN, US, INI, CFG, CONF, CONFIG, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML or ENV, you can use DxO PhotoLab or similar software from the "Photo Edit Settings Sidecar" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert ZSHRC, CONF, RCFILE, GITCONFIG, RC, PLIST, BASHRC, CONFIG, PROFILE, INI, PREFS or CFG files to DOP, try DxO PhotoLab or another comparable tool in the "Photo Edit Settings Sidecar" category.
The DOP Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our DOP converter.
