The .dob file extension primarily represents a proprietary bitmap image format used by Yealink VoIP phones to display company logos and screen wallpapers. Unlike standard JPG or PNG files, Yealink .dob files are heavily compressed and often restricted to specific dimensions (e.g., 132x64 or 236x82 pixels) and color depths (typically 1-bit monochrome or 2-bit grayscale) to fit legacy LCD screens. Users often struggle with these files because they cannot be opened by standard image viewers like Adobe Photoshop or Microsoft Photos. System administrators typically need to convert a standard company logo into a .dob file using the Yealink PictureExDemo utility to brand their phone fleet, or conversely, convert a .dob extracted from a phone backup back to BMP to verify the image content.
Secondary to the image format, .dob also refers to a Visual Basic UserDocument.
