It is also utilized as a secure data exchange container by d-centralize Data Flow Guard, which employs a standard ZIP-based structure. You typically need the specific hardware interface software, such as the Dynon SkyView export tool or Rotork Insight software, to correctly open or analyze the data within these files. The primary disadvantage of the .DFG format is its highly proprietary, closed nature. Standard text editors, generic file viewers, and web browsers cannot parse the complex proprietary data logs or avionics telemetry. Sharing these files with colleagues or support technicians who lack the specific hardware software is usually useless, creating major bottlenecks in diagnosing engine or actuator faults.
