The .DC2 file format serves multiple, completely unrelated purposes depending on its origin. Its primary use is as a Romanian tax declaration file, processed using the ANAF DUKIntegrator software. Alternatively, it acts as a DesignCAD 2D ASCII Drawing created by IMSI/Design, a DevCad Cam Pro Document, or a legacy Kodak Photo-Enhancer File (Digital Camera 2).
Because the .DC2 extension is shared among regional government data software, legacy CAD tools, and obsolete camera formats, users face significant file management challenges. Opening the tax variant without the specific Romanian government Java applet is nearly impossible. DesignCAD files require proprietary CAD software. You cannot natively preview these files in a web browser, they lack modern universal support, and diagnosing exactly which type of .DC2 file you possess is frustrating.
If you have a .DC2 tax document, your goal is usually to generate a PDF for reading and printing. For a DesignCAD drawing, you likely want to convert it to a standard DXF or DWG for editing in AutoCAD, or to a SVG or PNG for quick viewing. Legacy Kodak files are best converted to standard JPG images.
These are highly specific, closed, or proprietary formats. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data.
