About CV files
The .cv file extension represents multiple distinct formats, most notably CircuitVerse digital logic circuit projects and Cavalry motion graphics project files. Both of these rely on an underlying JSON data structure. Additionally, users frequently save personal resumes created in Microsoft Word or Canva as a .cv file (effectively a renamed DOCX or PDF). Finally, it historically served as a legacy CodeView Data File for Microsoft debugging tools.
The main difficulty with .cv files is extension ambiguity. Operating systems often fail to assign the correct default application. If you try to open a CircuitVerse file in a standard word processor, you see unreadable code. Furthermore, proprietary project files like those from Cavalry lock you into their ecosystem, requiring a specific installation and potentially paid subscriptions to render animations to standard video formats. Standard online converters fail to process .cv files because they rely solely on the confusing file extension instead of analyzing the internal signature.
Because this is a highly fragmented extension, often only the original software can properly read or export the data. Our platform will inspect the file to show text or internal content. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format - like JSON, Microsoft Compound, or PDF - viewing or conversion to standard formats like TXT, PDF, or DOCX may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your CV file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert CV file to PDF, KV, HP, CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG or CONF, you can use CircuitVerse or similar software from the "Digital logic & motion graphics" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
