About CMO files
The .CMO file extension is highly fragmented across several different industries. Primarily, it acts as a motion analysis data file for Visual3D to store biomechanical metrics, or as compiled object bytecode generated by the OCaml compiler. Secondary uses include 3D models for Dassault Systèmes, CAM manufacturing operation files for Autodesk Fusion, and motherboard BIOS updates for ASUS. The main disadvantage of the .CMO format is its proprietary and closed nature. Visual3D files lock your expensive biomechanical data inside a commercial ecosystem that requires a paid license to read. OCaml .CMO files are compiled binary data, making them completely unreadable in standard text editors. Autodesk CAM files are similarly closed within their ecosystem. Due to these limitations, direct conversion to universal formats like PDF or JPG is usually impossible. To share biomechanical data, you must export it directly from Visual3D as a CSV or C3D file. For OCaml, you need the original ML source code. Standard online converters fail to process .CMO files because they lack a universal file signature and consist of specialized binary code. Often, only the original authoring software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format - like the Autodesk Fusion .CMO which is secretly a standard ZIP archive - viewing or extraction may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your CMO file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The CMO Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our CMO converter.
