About CALC files

The .calc file extension usually represents a Calculator Tape Log, a simple text-based record of mathematical operations generated by the SFR Calculator utility. These files function like a digital paper tape, storing a history of calculations in standard UTF-8 text format. A secondary but significant use (approx. 18%) is for Swedish Tax Calculation documents generated by Skatteverket (Swedish Tax Agency). These are often just HTML files saved with a confusing extension, containing tax return summaries or error logs.

Users often struggle with .calc files because they are unassociated with any default application in Windows or macOS. Double-clicking results in an "Open with..." error, even though the content is typically plain text or HTML. For the calculator logs, users often need to move this data into Microsoft Excel for actual analysis, but the raw file format may not import cleanly without conversion to CSV. For Skatteverket files, the goal is usually archiving the tax record as a PDF or viewing it in a browser like Google Chrome without modifying the extension manually.

Convert.Guru analyzes your CALC file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted ODS, XLSX, XLS, TOC, FMF, SBP and PDF files.
