About C01 files
The .C01 file extension has multiple distinct uses depending on the software that created it. It is primarily used as a Taxable Payments Annual Report (TPAR) generated for the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). Alternatively, it is utilized as an Ordnance Survey AddressBase data file, a continuous beam design data file in PROKON, or a split archive volume for WinAce and Microsoft Access databases. Tax report files are typically generated by accounting platforms like MYOB AccountRight. The primary disadvantage of a .C01 file is its highly rigid, purpose-specific nature. TPAR files contain raw, unformatted text designed strictly for machine reading via the ATO portal, making manual auditing difficult. Meanwhile, split archives and split databases are completely useless on their own; you cannot open or read a .C01 split file if you are missing the rest of the sequence (e.g., C00, C02). For tax auditing purposes, convert the raw text data to CSV for spreadsheet analysis or PDF for secure archiving. For split archives, you must merge the sequence to extract the contents to a standard ZIP. Drop your file here to view and convert it securely right in your browser.

The C01 Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our C01 converter.
