Extract text from BTAB files

To convert other file formats to the "Musical Notation" file type, you need software like TuxGuitar or a similar tool.
A .btab file is a Bass Guitar Tablature file, serving as a simplified form of musical notation that tells bass players where to place their fingers on the fretboard rather than which pitches to play. While some originate from the legacy BTab Bass Tablature Editor, the vast majority are simply ASCII text files renamed to distinguish them from standard documents.
A common problem for users is formatting alignment. Because these files rely on monospaced fonts (like Courier New) to visually align the fret numbers on the "strings" (G-D-A-E), opening them in standard word processors like Microsoft Word or on mobile devices often destroys the layout, rendering the music unreadable due to text wrapping and variable-width fonts. Additionally, modern tablature software like Guitar Pro does not natively open .btab files without a manual import process.
To resolve this, users should convert .btab files to PDF for printing and sharing, ensuring the visual layout is permanently frozen. For editing or importing into music software, converting to TXT strips away potential binary corruption, while converting to PNG creates a quick-reference image for mobile galleries.
