About BRUSHSET files
A .brushset file is a proprietary brush collection archive used exclusively by the digital illustration application Procreate on iPadOS. It allows artists to bundle, organize, and share multiple custom brushes in a single downloadable package.
The format is developed by Savage Interactive and is heavily tied to the Apple ecosystem. Internally, a .brushset file functions as a standard ZIP archive containing individual brush files, which store Property List (PLIST) XML configurations alongside embedded PNG images defining the brush's 'shape' and 'grain'.
Users frequently encounter limits with .brushset files because they are completely useless outside of the iPad. They cannot be directly imported into Adobe Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, or Corel Painter. PC and Android users who purchase or download these files are left with unrecognized data that their operating systems cannot open without a $500+ Apple device.
The best workaround is extracting the target data to standard ZIP and PNG formats. Because the mathematical stroke rendering engines of different software do not match, a clean 1:1 conversion to Photoshop's ABR format is impossible. Extracting the file allows you to recover the raw texture images, but you will lose all specific pressure, tilt, and scatter settings.
This format is strictly closed and difficult to convert because the parametric stroke logic is proprietary. Standard online converters fail to process it because they attempt to translate incompatible mathematical data. Since our analysis detects the supported underlying ZIP format, we can help you extract the embedded shape and grain images so you can manually rebuild the brushes in your preferred software.
Convert.Guru analyzes your BRUSHSET file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert BRUSHSET file to ABR, PNG, SUT, TMP, TEMP, CACHE, LOG, BAK, OLD, NEW, PART or DOWNLOAD, you can use Procreate or similar software from the "Digital Brush Collection Archive" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….

The BRUSHSET Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our BRUSHSET converter.
