About BPK files
A .BPK file is most frequently a "Basketball Packed" game data file generated by Stat Crew System, the legacy standard for scoring NCAA and high school basketball games. These files are designed to "pack" all play-by-play, scoring, and roster data into a single transportable archive for email exchange between schools and conferences. The primary problem for users is that .BPK files are completely unreadable without the licensed Stat Crew software (specifically The Automated Scorebook), which is expensive and runs only on Windows. You cannot simply double-click to view the box score. To make this data usable for the web, media, or archives, you must convert the .BPK file to XML (for database imports), PDF (for printable game reports), or HTML.
Alternatively, if you are an Android gamer, your .BPK file is likely a backup archive created by BlueStacks. In this context, the file is simply a GZIP compressed container holding your app data, game saves, and settings. While BlueStacks is designed to "Restore" these files automatically, users often encounter version conflicts or corruption. A practical workaround is to treat these as standard archives: by converting or renaming the file extension from .BPK to GZ or ZIP, you can bypass the emulator and manually extract your raw data files using tools like 7-Zip or WinRAR.
Convert.Guru analyzes your BPK file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted BKP, BLU, BCFZIP and DOI files.
The BPK Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our BPK converter.
