Convert BLU to another file type
To convert BLU files to another format, you need EcoStruxure or other Developer software.
Convert a file to BLU
To convert other file formats to the "Compiled Binary Library" file type, you need software like EcoStruxure or a similar tool.
About BLU files
The .BLU file format primarily functions as a compiled PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) binary library used in industrial automation, or as a keymapping configuration file for Android emulators. Schneider Electric EcoStruxure uses these files to store pre-compiled automation blocks, while the BlueStacks emulator uses them to map touchscreen controls to keyboard and mouse inputs for games like Minecraft. You can use the original software or EcoStruxure Machine Expert to natively open them.
Users frequently struggle with .BLU files because they are highly specialized and strictly proprietary. A PLC library file cannot be casually inspected; it requires installing a massive, expensive industrial software suite. Similarly, emulator keymaps are useless outside their specific software ecosystem. Standard operating systems and web browsers have no built-in support for these formats.
If you need to extract the data, the best conversion target for a .BLU file is often ZIP. Because the Schneider Electric variant is a standard ZIP container under the hood, changing the extension or extracting it reveals the internal XML and binary files. For BlueStacks files, converting to TXT or JSON might expose the coordinate mapping data, though proprietary formatting may be lost.
This file format is notoriously difficult to open or convert because standard online converters fail to parse the specialized machine code or emulator syntax. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data. However, just drag and drop your file on convert.guru to identify the format, view it, and convert it when possible. We can inspect the file, show raw text or internal content, and if our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format like ZIP, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your BLU file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert BLU file to DLL, SO, DYLIB, BUNDLE, PLUGIN, XPI, CRX, SAFARIEXTZ, APPEX, KEXT, SYS or DRV, you can use EcoStruxure or similar software from the "PLC Library & Emulator Config" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert LV2, DYLIB, VST, AAX, DRV, TDE, LADSPA, BUNDLE, AU, DLL, RTAS or SO files to BLU, try EcoStruxure or another comparable tool in the "PLC Library & Emulator Config" category.
The BLU Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our BLU converter.
