About BOD files

The .BOD file extension is primarily associated with Bode plot data files created by NI Electronics Workbench. These files store frequency response data for electronic circuit simulations. Alternatively, the .BOD extension represents legacy AOL Instant Messenger chat logs, or 3D model files used in games like Warhammer 40k: Space Marine, Egosoft X-Universe, and Blade of Darkness. Another notable use is for Parasolid 3D model data used in CAD software like Pro/ENGINEER. The major disadvantage of the .BOD format is its highly fragmented and proprietary nature. A Bode plot file cannot be read by a 3D modeling tool, and a 20-year-old AIM chat log is useless without a text parser. Users typically need to convert .BOD circuit data to CSV or PDF for reporting, AIM logs to TXT for reading, or game models to OBJ or FBX for 3D editing. Because .BOD is often a closed, proprietary format heavily dependent on the creating software, standard online converters usually fail to process it. Only the original software can reliably read or export the specific data structure. If our system detects a supported underlying format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your BOD file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted EWPRJ, CA4, PBF and COD files.

The BOD Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our BOD converter.
