About BND files

A .BND file is a versatile container format most frequently associated with FromSoftware titles (like Dark Souls, Elden Ring, and Armored Core) or IBM DB2 database environments. In the gaming context, these "Binder" files act as proprietary archives that package game assets - such as textures, 3D models, and scripts - into a single efficient volume.

The primary challenge for users is that .BND files are often compressed with specialized algorithms (like DCX compression) or use headers that standard utilities like WinRAR or macOS Archive Utility cannot recognize. This proprietary lock-in prevents gamers and modders from accessing the underlying assets for customization or repair. Similarly, in enterprise settings, IBM DB2 bind files are binary artifacts required to associate SQL packages with a database, useless without the specific CLI tools.

To resolve this, the conversion workflow depends on the file's origin:

Convert.Guru analyzes your BND file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted MESH, TPF, MP4, PK, 7, MFI, MYR and PHP files.
