About BLZ files
The .BLZ file extension serves multiple roles depending on the software that created it. Most frequently, it acts as a GZIP-compressed game crash report for titles published by Blizzard Entertainment. Another major use case is for meeting session recordings generated by TeamViewer Meeting (formerly known as Blizz). Historically, it has also been used as game application packages for the discontinued Nokia N-Gage, Nintendo DS game archives, and HMI project data archives for Wonderware InTouch.
The main drawback of a .BLZ file is its proprietary nature and complete lack of native operating system support. You cannot simply double-click a .BLZ video recording and expect it to play in standard media players or web browsers; it requires the specific TeamViewer client. Similarly, Blizzard crash logs are completely unreadable unless decompressed first, confusing users who just want to read the plain text error data. N-Gage packages and Nintendo DS archives require highly specific, often outdated, emulation tools or extractors.
To make these files usable, conversion or extraction is mandatory. For TeamViewer recordings, convert to MP4 for universal web playback, video editing, and sharing. For Blizzard crash logs, extract them to TXT or LOG to read the error codes for troubleshooting. For legacy game archives, convert or extract to a standard ZIP archive. Just drag and drop your file here to analyze and convert it - free, online, and without installing software.

The BLZ Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our BLZ converter.
