The .DLZ file extension is a highly fragmented proprietary format. Most commonly, it functions as a game data archive for the Sniper: Ghost Warrior video game, storing levels, textures, and 3D models. Additionally, it serves as a CAD drawing file part for Nemetschek Allplan, a printer driver extension package for Ricoh, and an engine datalog for Holley Terminator X EFI systems. The major disadvantage of the .DLZ extension is its severe fragmentation and proprietary nature. Because multiple companies chose the same three letters for entirely unrelated data types, standard operating systems cannot reliably assign a default application to open them. They are not supported by web browsers. Game and CAD variants are closed-source, meaning you cannot read their data without the exact parent application. Furthermore, trying to force-open them in a standard text editor usually yields unreadable binary garbage.
