About BID files
A .bid file is primarily an ID card design or badge template file used by ID creation software like ScreenCheck BadgeMaker and ID Flow. It contains the exact layout, graphical assets, text fields, and barcode settings needed to print professional badges. The main disadvantage of this format is its proprietary nature. Without purchasing an expensive software license and installing the exact original program, the file is virtually useless on a standard computer. You cannot view it natively in web browsers, and standard image viewers cannot read the layout data. Users usually need to convert .bid files to standard formats like PDF, PNG, or JPG to share proofs with clients or to print the badges without specialized hardware. Standard online converters almost always fail to process these files because the visual layout is driven by closed-source rendering engines.
