Extract text from Bluebeam or Bizagi files (BEX)

A .BEX file primarily acts as a Bluebeam Revu Page Set. These files are used by Bluebeam Revu, a popular construction and engineering software, to manage large batches of PDF documents. Under the hood, a Bluebeam .BEX file is simply plain text structured as XML.
Another very common use for the .BEX extension is the Bizagi Exportable Package. Exported from Bizagi Experience or Bizagi Studio, these files contain business process workflows. Structurally, these Bizagi files are just renamed ZIP archives holding underlying process data.
Less commonly, .BEX files represent SAP Business Explorer Query Workbooks used in data reporting, or Bosch Motorsport ECU Calibration Data files (Binary EXchange) used for engine tuning.
The main disadvantage of the .BEX format is its proprietary nature. For Bluebeam users, the file itself is useless if disconnected from the original PDF files, because it only contains file paths, not the actual document data. This means sharing a .BEX file with someone who lacks the source PDFs or the $200+/year Bluebeam license will result in a broken process.
