About ADAME files
An .ADAME file is a personal document, image, or database that has been maliciously locked by the Adame ransomware, a known variant of the Phobos malware family. Victims typically encounter these files when they realize their original data (such as DOCX or JPG files) can no longer be opened, and the filenames have been appended with an ID, an email address, and the .ADAME extension. Security software like Malwarebytes can remove the active virus, but doing so does not unlock the data. Users frequently attempt to convert .ADAME files back to their original formats to regain access to their work. However, this is not a simple file format change; the data has been scrambled using military-grade RSA and AES encryption. Standard online converters fail to process .ADAME files because they are completely randomized data blocks, not standard media files. Changing the extension manually or running it through a normal conversion tool will just result in a corrupted file error. The only true way to recover these files is by using a specialized decryption tool containing the exact cryptographic key generated by the attackers, or by restoring the original files from an offline backup. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your ADAME file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The ADAME Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our ADAME converter.
