The .8bi file extension identifies an Adobe Photoshop Import Plugin. These binary modules serve a specific function: they allow Adobe Photoshop (and compatible hosts like Corel PaintShop Pro) to read or "acquire" data from external hardware like scanners, or to open file formats that aren't natively supported. Unlike standard documents, .8bi files are executable libraries (similar to DLL files on Windows) and cannot be opened by double-clicking.
