About ZX files

The .zx extension is shared by two distinct proprietary formats used in specialized engineering fields: Friendess TubesT projects and ZXW Tools schematics.

1. Friendess TubesT Project (Industrial Laser Cutting):
This is the most common use (approx. 41%). It serves as a 3D nesting and machining file for the TubesT software, widely used with FSCUT laser cutting controllers. These files store tube geometry, toolpaths, nesting layouts, and machine parameters.

2. ZXW Boardview (Electronics Repair):
A schematic format associated with ZXW Tools (Zillion x Work), the industry standard for component-level repair of iPhones, iPads, and Samsung devices.

Convert.Guru analyzes your ZX file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted XZ, DMP, ZIP, DVB, SHX and FAS files.

The ZX Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our ZX converter.
