To convert other file formats to the "RF Measurement Archive" file type, you need software like R&S ZNXSIM or a similar tool.

About ZNX files

The .ZNX file extension is primarily associated with Rohde & Schwarz Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs), specifically the ZNB, ZNC, and ZND series. These files serve as comprehensive VNA Project Archives, storing not just the measurement data (S-parameters), but the entire instrument state - including calibration sets, limit lines, frequency sweeps, and display configurations.

For engineers and technicians, the .znx format poses a significant challenge: it is a proprietary "black box" binary container. You cannot simply double-click it to view results in Microsoft Excel or import it directly into simulation tools like Keysight ADS. Users often receive these files from a lab but lack the physical hardware to read them, leaving valuable RF data locked away.

To access the data, you generally need to "convert" the file by opening it in the Rohde & Schwarz ZNXSIM (simulation software) or the actual VNA hardware, and then exporting the traces to standard formats.

*Note: A secondary, less common use of the .znx extension is for update packages in the IDIS iNEX video management platform.*

Convert.Guru analyzes your ZNX file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted FSP, LAF and BMPR files.

The ZNX Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our ZNX converter.
