Extract text from Lucidchart and Clip Studio files (LAF)

A .laf file typically functions as a Lucidchart Archive Backup, a Label Artist design, or an Auto Action Set for Clip Studio Paint. In the enterprise environment, it is most commonly associated with Lucidchart, a web-based diagramming application. Users export .laf files to create offline, local backups of their cloud-based flowcharts and diagrams. Alternatively, graphic designers use the format to store automated macro scripts in Clip Studio Paint, or to save label templates in Label Artist.
Because the .laf format serves multiple, highly proprietary functions, it presents severe challenges for users. The format is entirely closed. A Lucidchart archive requires an active, often paid, account to restore and view the diagram. Your operating system cannot natively read or preview these files, and standard offline software will return an error when trying to open them.
To effectively convert these files, you must use their original software. For Lucidchart backups, you must import the .laf file back into the web application and use its native export tools to convert the diagram to a standard PDF, PNG, or VSDX file. For Label Artist files, you can use the software to print the design to a PDF. Note that Clip Studio Paint action sets are merely recordings of software clicks and cannot be converted into an image. Because .laf files are closed and proprietary, standard online converters usually fail. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
