Convert a file to ZMC
To convert other file formats to the "Testing Data File" file type, you need software like Z-Micro Curve Tracer Software or a similar tool.
About ZMC files
The .ZMC file extension primarily stores measurement data generated by a Z-Micro Curve Tracer, used in electronics testing to analyze the current-voltage (I-V) characteristics of semiconductor devices. Alternatively, these files function as isolated malware containers within ZoneAlarm, a legacy security product by Check Point Software Technologies. Z-Micro hardware requires its proprietary desktop application to read the diagnostic curves, while ZoneAlarm uses the format internally to lock malicious files. The primary disadvantage of the .ZMC format is that it is highly proprietary. It traps expensive hardware testing data inside a closed ecosystem, requiring you to have the exact Z-Micro software installed just to view a basic graph. Meanwhile, ZoneAlarm quarantine files are intentionally encrypted and locked to prevent accidental execution of viruses. Standard web browsers and data analysis tools cannot open .ZMC directly. For the curve trace data, converting to CSV or TXT is highly recommended to plot the I-V curves in Microsoft Excel or Python. For quarantine files, conversion is never advised unless you are extracting a payload in a sandboxed environment. Because .ZMC is a closed, proprietary format, standard online converters often fail to process it. Usually, only the original software can properly read or export the raw data. If our analysis detects supported underlying text, embedded CSV data, or readable metadata, extracting the trace coordinates may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your ZMC file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert ZMC file to CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG, CONF, DAT, DB or SQL, you can use Z-Micro Curve Tracer Software or similar software from the "Semiconductor Curve Trace Data" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to ZMC, try Z-Micro Curve Tracer Software or another comparable tool in the "Semiconductor Curve Trace Data" category.
The ZMC Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our ZMC converter.
