About ZHP files

A .ZHP file is primarily used as a compressed TIFF image for CAD drawings generated by Zuken E3.series software, or as a compressed plot job file for Nemetschek Zeus and Hewlett-Packard plotters. In other enterprise environments, it acts as a system report file from Ellucian Colleague or an XML employee testimonial generated by Haufe HR software.
The main disadvantage of the .ZHP format is its extreme fragmentation. Because multiple unrelated software vendors use the exact same file extension, operating systems cannot natively assign a default program to open it. Users often face 'unknown file type' errors upon receiving these files. Furthermore, specialized plot jobs or CAD exports are essentially locked data unless you have an expensive subscription or license for the original proprietary software.
When converting a .ZHP file, the target format heavily depends on its internal structure. CAD drawings and plot jobs are best converted to PDF or standard TIFF for easy document sharing, though you will lose machine-specific plotter instructions like HPGL/2 commands. If the file contains text reports, converting the underlying XML to TXT or CSV is the most practical workaround.
