Convert ZBF to another file type
To convert ZBF files to another format, you need OpticStudio or other Data software.
Convert a file to ZBF
To convert other file formats to the "Specialized Proprietary Data" file type, you need software like OpticStudio or a similar tool.
About ZBF files
A .ZBF file generally belongs to one of several highly specialized, unrelated software ecosystems. Most commonly, it acts as a Z-CAD Vector Drawing used by System Andot's CAD software, or as a Zemax Beam File generated by OpticStudio for optical simulation field data. In gaming communities, it stores Geometry Dash bot macros recorded by the ZBot tool. It can also function as a signed electronic bid file in the Fujian e-bidding platform or a legacy Japanese e-book format for BookDesigner.
Because .ZBF relies heavily on the original environment - whether that is a precise physics engine, a specific CAD geometry kernel, or a game mod - it poses significant disadvantages for sharing. The format is closed, proprietary, and completely unreadable to standard web browsers or operating systems. Files often require expensive licenses like Ansys OpticStudio to open, or specialized mods like ZBot that are notoriously difficult to configure.
Users typically need to convert .ZBF files to make the data accessible. For CAD drawings, target formats like DXF or PDF are ideal. For optical data, exporting to CSV or standard TXT is preferred. However, standard online converters fail to process .ZBF because it lacks a unified structure; a ZBot macro has completely different byte architecture than a Zemax optical file.
This file format is exceptionally difficult to convert because only the original software can parse the internal mathematical arrays or macro timings accurately. Even if direct conversion fails, our analysis engine will inspect the file headers, identify its true origin, and attempt to extract readable text or underlying data, saving you from downloading unknown software.
Convert.Guru analyzes your ZBF file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert ZBF file to CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG, CONF, DAT, DB or SQL, you can use OpticStudio or similar software from the "Vector, Simulation, or Macro Data" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to ZBF, try OpticStudio or another comparable tool in the "Vector, Simulation, or Macro Data" category.
The ZBF Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our ZBF converter.
