About ZBOT files

A .ZBOT file is a gameplay macro used by zBot, a specialized mod for the popular platformer game Geometry Dash. Instead of saving a massive video of your gameplay, it records the exact timing of every jump, click, and framerate limit across thousands of frames. The file is exclusively created and read by the zBot mod framework developed by FigmentBoy. Because a .ZBOT file only contains a mathematical script of keyboard inputs and FPS metadata, it is heavily restricted. This proprietary format cannot be directly processed by video players like VLC or uploaded directly to YouTube. It is completely useless to someone who does not have the game and the specific mod installed. Most users want to convert .ZBOT to MP4 or WEBM to share their speedruns or impossibly difficult level completions online.
