Extract text from disguised archives and scripts (YZ)

To convert other file formats to the "Disguised Archive File" file type, you need software like WinRAR or a similar tool.
A .yz file is typically not a distinct format, but rather a disguised compressed archive or an encrypted game script. Most commonly, it is a RAR, 7Z, or ZIP archive that a user has manually renamed to bypass email attachment filters or forum upload restrictions. In the gaming ecosystem, the Kirikiroid2 visual novel engine uses .yz for renamed ZIP game archives. Alternatively, the Android application GameGuardian uses the .yz extension for encrypted LUA game modification scripts (often referred to as LuaR). The main disadvantage of the .yz format is its lack of native system recognition. Your operating system and web browsers do not know how to handle it, and double-clicking the file usually results in an error.
To restore usability, users need to convert or rename these files back to their true target formats: RAR, 7Z, or ZIP. Once restored, you can use standard software like WinRAR or 7-Zip to extract the contents without losing any data. However, if the file is an encrypted Lua script from GameGuardian, it is a closed, proprietary format. Standard online converters fail to process it because it requires specific cryptographic keys to reverse the LuaR encryption. Often only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format - such as a standard archive header - viewing or conversion may still be possible.
