About XPIX files

The .XPIX file is primarily used as a character rig selection picker by the X-Picker plugin for Autodesk Maya. Animators use these files to create visual interfaces for selecting character controls. Alternatively, it is used as a data file for the X-Plane 11 flight simulator. The main disadvantage of the .XPIX format is its proprietary nature. It requires the user to have a licensed copy of Autodesk Maya and the specific X-Picker plugin installed. Without this software, the file appears useless and cannot be opened by standard image viewers or alternative 3D software. However, the underlying structure of an X-Picker .XPIX file is a standard ZIP archive. It contains graphical assets, usually PNG or JPG images, and text-based configuration scripts. If you need to recover the interface images or logic, the best workaround is to treat it as a compressed archive. This file format is difficult to convert directly because standard online converters do not recognize the specific logic of the X-Picker interface. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data. Just drag and drop your file into convert.guru to identify the format. We can inspect the file and show internal content. Because our analysis detects the embedded ZIP format, viewing the internal structure or extracting the assets may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your XPIX file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
