About XPF files
The .xpf extension acts as a container for several distinct, unrelated data formats, creating significant confusion for users. Most commonly (42%), it is an XML Print File generated by Mettler Toledo precision instruments (like the X-Series balances). These files are essentially formatted XML text documents used to export weighing results and configuration reports. The friction here is that while they are human-readable text, they are often raw code that isn't presentation-ready for clients or audits. Users frequently need to convert these from raw XML to PDF or Excel (XLSX) to make the data usable.
Another prominent variation (approx. 13%) is the LMMS Preset File used by LMMS (Linux MultiMedia Studio). These files store instrument track settings and synthesizer parameters. They are not audio files (like MP3 or WAV) and cannot be played by standard media players. To "convert" these, you must load them into LMMS and render the project to an audio format. Additionally, .xpf files appear in the sign-making industry as proprietary cutting data for Graphtec plotters. These vector files are locked into the Graphtec ecosystem, forcing users to use Graphtec Studio to export designs to standard vector formats like EPS, DXF, or AI for use in Adobe Illustrator.
Convert.Guru analyzes your XPF file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted XPS, ONLINE, XCF, AI, XSPF, PDF, DLL, TXT, JPG and DF files.
The XPF Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our XPF converter.
