About WPH files

A .wph file is a BIOS firmware update package specifically designed for systems running Phoenix Technologies BIOS. These files are typically generated and used by the WinPhlash utility to update a computer's motherboard firmware from within Windows. While convenient for automatic updates, the .wph format becomes a significant hurdle when a system is "bricked" or fails to boot. In these scenarios, the proprietary .wph container is often incompatible with hardware programmers (like the CH341A) or third-party flashing tools, which require a raw binary (.BIN) or Read-Only Memory (.ROM) format. Users frequently need to convert or extract the raw data from a .wph file to perform a "Crisis Recovery" - a manual method to force-flash a dead laptop by renaming the file to BIOS.WPH on a specially prepared USB drive.

Convert.Guru analyzes your WPH file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted BIN, PDF, 301, 303 and 411 files.
