About WMB files
A .WMB file is most frequently a proprietary 3D model format used in Nintendo Wii video games, such as Super Smash Bros. Brawl or Pokemon Battle Revolution. These files contain the binary geometry - vertices, meshes, and sometimes bone rigging - specifically optimized for the Wii's graphics architecture. Because this format is intended strictly for console runtime environments, it is unreadable by standard PC software like Blender or Autodesk Maya without intermediate conversion. Users often encounter these files when extracting game assets for modding, archiving, or fan art creation, only to find that standard 3D importers reject the file due to its big-endian encoding and custom headers.
For 3D designers and modders, the practical solution is converting the .WMB file into a universally accepted interchange format. If you need to preserve the skeletal structure (rigging) for animation, .DAE (Collada) or FBX are the best targets. For static geometry or 3D printing, converting to OBJ provides the widest compatibility.
Note on Industrial Use: In a completely different context, a .WMB file may also be a Welder Memory Backup generated by Lincoln Electric Power Wave machines. These are binary snapshots of system settings used for cloning configurations across welding fleets. These cannot be converted to 3D formats; they are strictly for restoring machine states via Lincoln's Power Wave Manager.
Convert.Guru analyzes your WMB file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert WMB file to OBJ, FBX, DAE, 3DS, MAX, BLEND, MA, MB, C4D, STL, PLY or WRL, you can use BrawlBox or similar software from the "Wii Game 3D Model" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DWG, DAE, X3D, IGES, WRL, JT, SKP, 3DS, 3DM, OBJ, STEP or FBX files to WMB, try BrawlBox or another comparable tool in the "Wii Game 3D Model" category.
The WMB Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our WMB converter.
