About WEBPNP files
.WEBPNP (Web Point and Print) files are legacy system archives created by Microsoft to distribute printer drivers and configurations over a web network. They were primarily used in older versions of Windows (such as Windows 2000 and XP) running Internet Information Services (IIS) to allow users to install network printers seamlessly via HTTP.
These files are processed natively by the Windows Print Spooler and Windows Shell. There is no standalone viewer for them, as they are meant to be executed automatically during the printer setup process.
The .WEBPNP format is proprietary, highly outdated, and poses significant security risks in modern IT environments due to historical vulnerabilities in the Point and Print protocol. Files are essentially black boxes to standard users, and modern web browsers or document viewers cannot open them. They are useless outside of a legacy Windows network ecosystem.
Standard online converters fail to process .WEBPNP files because they are system packages, not standard media or document files. This file format is difficult to open or convert, and often only the original Windows deployment tools can properly read or execute the data.
Convert.Guru analyzes your WEBPNP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert WEBPNP file to SYS, DLL, EXE, DRV, VXD, 386, COM, BAT, CMD, SCR, PIF or LNK, you can use Windows OS or similar software from the "Printer Driver Deployment" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert MSI, EXE, REG, MST, LNK, CAB, CAT, DRV, INF, SYS, MSU or DLL files to WEBPNP, try Windows OS or another comparable tool in the "Printer Driver Deployment" category.
The WEBPNP Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our WEBPNP converter.
