Extract text from Document lists (WDL)

To convert other file formats to the "Enterprise Document List" file type, you need software like Worldox or a similar tool.
A .wdl file typically functions as a Worldox Document Management Worklist or an iManage WorkSite link file. These files store lists of documents, shortcuts, or project workflows used heavily by legal and enterprise document management systems. Alternatively, a .wdl file can be a WINDEV Compiled Library developed by PC SOFT to hold compiled code and application assets, or a legacy DynaDoc portable document.
The biggest drawback of .wdl files is their severe vendor lock-in. If you receive a Worldox or iManage list but lack a costly enterprise license or direct network access to the host server, the file is virtually useless. They are entirely unsupported by web browsers, and reading the raw metadata manually is often a confusing mess of proprietary formatting. Furthermore, WINDEV WDL files are compiled binaries, meaning they cannot be opened, viewed, or edited without the exact original development environment.
To make these files readable across different platforms, conversion and data extraction are necessary. For document lists and worklists, convert your .WDL to CSV or TXT to cleanly extract the raw text and file paths for archiving or spreadsheet analysis. If you are dealing with a legacy DynaDoc WDL, convert it directly to PDF for standard viewing, printing, and archiving.
