A .VF file is a chameleon format that likely belongs to one of three distinct software ecosystems, each with unique conversion needs.
- Siemens Teamcenter Visualization: The most common industrial use (approx. 31%) is as a Visualization Session file. These files do not contain the actual 3D geometry (which is stored in JT files) but rather metadata, snapshots, markups, and loading instructions. Users often struggle to open these without the full Teamcenter PLM suite, creating a need to convert session data into shareable 3D PDF or standard PLM XML reports.
- Voiceflow Project: For conversation designers (approx. 30%), a .VF file is a JSON-formatted export of a Voiceflow assistant. While these are plain text, they are locked into the .VF extension. - VEGAS Movie Studio Project: In the creative sector, .VF represents a legacy Video Project created by older versions of VEGAS Movie Studio (formerly Sony Vegas).
