Extract text from 3ds Max coordinate files (UVW)

A .UVW file stores texture mapping coordinates generated primarily by Autodesk 3ds Max. In 3D computer graphics, UV mapping is the process of projecting a 2D image onto a 3D model's surface. The .UVW file saves this specific mapping layout (the Unwrap UVW modifier state) so it can be reloaded onto the same model or applied to another model with identical geometry.
Working with .UVW files presents significant challenges. It is a highly proprietary format that requires an expensive Autodesk subscription to open. Furthermore, a .UVW file is entirely useless on its own; it contains no 3D geometry and no image data, only coordinate numbers. If you do not have the original 3D mesh, you cannot view the texture layout.
Because this is a closed, proprietary format storing isolated modifier data, standard online converters fail to process it. You cannot simply convert a .UVW to a 3D model or an image file because the geometry and textures are missing. When moving assets between software, it is far better to export the entire 3D scene as an FBX or OBJ file, which universally embeds both the 3D mesh and its UV coordinates together.
