To convert other file formats to the "Saved Offline Webpage" file type, you need software like UC Browser or a similar tool.

About UHTML files

The .UHTML file is a proprietary offline webpage format created by UC Browser. Users generate these files when they use the 'Save Page' feature on their mobile or desktop browser to store web content for offline reading. The file acts as an archive, bundling text, layout instructions, and images into a single package. The dominant software to open these files is UC Browser, developed by UCWeb.

The major disadvantage of the .UHTML format is vendor lock-in. It is a strictly proprietary format. Standard web browsers like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Apple Safari cannot open .UHTML files natively. If you switch to a different browser or transfer the files to a computer without UC Browser installed, your saved reading list becomes entirely inaccessible. Furthermore, standard online converters often fail to process .UHTML files because the internal compression and bundling methods differ significantly from open standards like MHTML.

To regain access to your data outside of the UC Browser ecosystem, you need to convert these files to universally readable formats. The best conversion targets are HTML (for standard browser viewing), PDF (for static document archiving), or TXT (to extract the raw text, though all images and styling will be lost).

Because this is a closed, proprietary format, it is notoriously difficult to open or convert without the original software. Often, only the original UC Browser app can properly read or export the visual data. However, just drag and drop your file onto convert.guru to identify the format, view its underlying structure, and convert it when possible. If our analysis detects a supported embedded HTML payload within the wrapper, viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your UHTML file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted UHTM, UXX and MXC2 files.

The UHTML Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our UHTML converter.
