Extract text from Workspace files (TSW)

The .tsw file extension is predominantly used as a TradeStation Workspace file by the TradeStation electronic trading platform. These files save customized layouts, trading strategies, technical indicators, and charting setups. As a proprietary settings file built on the Microsoft Compound architecture, the format is highly restrictive. It cannot be parsed by standard text editors, is completely unsupported by web browsers, and strictly requires a heavy, localized TradeStation installation to read. This creates a severe bottleneck for users trying to share chart setups with clients or peers who do not subscribe to the platform. To bypass this, users must manually export their views to PNG or print them as PDF documents.
Alternatively, .tsw is utilized by Crown Equipment Corporation for forklift truck software archives and firmware updates. These files are technically just standard ZIP or 7Z compressed archives deliberately obfuscated with a custom extension to restrict access to authorized technicians.
Because .tsw files are closed, proprietary formats, standard online converters predictably fail to process them. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the TradeStation data.
