About TR files
The .TR file extension is a chameleon, serving two distinct but common purposes: Examination Tabulation Reports and Network Simulation Traces.
- Examination & Tabulation Reports: Frequently generated by educational systems (like RUHS) or ERP software like Tally, these files contain raw student results or financial tabulation data. The main challenge is that these files are often proprietary exports or raw text dumps that look messy in a standard text editor. They lack the formatting required for official printing or data analysis. Users typically need to convert these reports to PDF for archiving/printing or Excel (.XLSX) to filter and sort the data.
- Network Simulation Traces: Used by NS-3 and NS-2 (Network Simulators), these are text-based log files recording packet transmission events. While they are plain text, they can be gigabytes in size and difficult to interpret manually. Researchers often need to convert them to CSV for analysis in python/pandas or Graph formats for visualization tools like Xgraph.
- Legacy E-Books: Older files may be TomeRaider e-books, a format now largely obsolete. These lock content into a proprietary viewer, necessitating conversion to EPUB or TXT for modern readers.
Convert.Guru analyzes your TR file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted GIF, PDF, MP4, JPG, PNG, TAR, JFIF, RTF, TS, WEBP, DOCX, ZIP and TDS files.
The TR Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our TR converter.
