About TR files

The .tr file format primarily stores network simulation trace logs generated by ns-2 or ns-3 Network Simulator, or functions as a university examination result report. In network research, these files record packet-level events (enqueues, dequeues, drops) across simulated nodes. Alternatively, .tr files encapsulate locked examination tabulation data for university management systems, translation files for Trados Studio, or legacy TomeRaider eBooks. The main disadvantage of the .tr format is its lack of broad compatibility. Trace files are unstructured plain text that can easily exceed gigabytes in size, frequently crashing standard text editors and exceeding spreadsheet row limits. Legacy TomeRaider eBooks require obsolete hardware to open, and proprietary exam reports cannot be viewed natively in web browsers. To make this data usable, conversion is strictly required. For data analysis, convert network traces to CSV or TXT to filter packet metrics. For archiving or sharing university exam results, convert to PDF or .PDF/A. For reading legacy eBooks, convert to EPUB.

Convert.Guru analyzes your TR file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted GIF, PDF, MP4, JPG, PNG, TAR, JFIF, RTF, TS, WEBP, DOCX, ZIP and TDS files.

The TR Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our TR converter.
