About TOT files

The .TOT file extension is most commonly used as a firmware image file for LG smartphones. Technicians and advanced users utilize these files with flashing software like LGUP or LG Flash Tool to restore devices to factory settings, unbrick phones, or downgrade the operating system. Alternatively, the .TOT extension is utilized for eCAD PRO kitchen design projects (internally formatted in XML) and as survey coordinate data files for software from Model Maker Systems.

The main disadvantage of .TOT firmware files is their massive size and completely proprietary binary structure. They are locked to specific hardware models and cannot be opened by standard archive tools or web browsers. For the CAD and surveying variations, users face strict vendor lock-in; opening an eCAD PRO project or a Model Maker Systems file natively requires purchasing costly, niche software licenses. Standard online converters fail to process these files because they lack the specific parsing logic for LG's proprietary headers or the obscure coordinate schema of specialized surveying applications.

Converting an LG firmware .TOT file is inherently impossible and unnecessary, as the binary data is meant strictly for hardware flashing, not document reading. However, if your .TOT file is an eCAD PRO project, the underlying data is standard XML, making it possible to extract dimensions, parts lists, and metadata into a TXT or CSV format. Survey coordinate data can similarly be extracted or converted to CSV or DXF for use in other GIS or CAD platforms.

Because these specific formats are notoriously difficult to process, diagnosing a mysterious .TOT file is frustrating. Our platform inspects the internal headers to determine if you are dealing with a gigabyte-sized binary firmware image or a lightweight XML project. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your TOT file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

FAQ

If you want to convert TOT file to KDZ, CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG, CONF, DAT or DB, you can use LGUP or similar software from the "Firmware Flashing & CAD Data" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….

To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to TOT, try LGUP or another comparable tool in the "Firmware Flashing & CAD Data" category.

The TOT Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our TOT converter.
