Users face immediate limits because a literal .subtitle file cannot be uploaded to YouTube, Vimeo, or social media platforms. Standard media players like VLC Media Player cannot read the custom header data and will reject the file if you try to play it with a video. To make your captions usable, you must convert the .subtitle file to standard web formats like SRT (SubRip), VTT (WebVTT), or raw TXT. Converting to these universally accepted formats ensures your captions work on any device, though you will lose TMPGEnc-specific visual styling.
