The .sns file format is primarily used as an Olympus camera sensor data log file. High-end cameras manufactured by OM Digital Solutions (formerly Olympus) generate these files to continuously record telemetry data. This includes GPS coordinates, temperature, compass direction, and altitude while shooting photos or videos. Alternatively, the .sns extension was used by Electronic Arts to store compressed video game audio, and by the discontinued Save-N-Sync software for project settings.
The main disadvantage of the .sns format is its proprietary nature. Olympus sensor logs cannot be natively imported into standard spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel or GIS tools without specialized parsing. Similarly, modern media players fail to recognize EA game audio files because the compression codec is obsolete. You are heavily restricted to using the official OM Image Share app to view the camera data, and you simply cannot play the legacy audio files on modern operating systems without emulation.
To unlock your data, conversion is necessary. Convert camera .sns logs to CSV or TXT for spreadsheet analysis.
