Most commonly, it is a Hy-Tek Data Exchange file generated by Hy-Tek MEET MANAGER, the standard software for managing swimming and track & field competitions. These files contain athlete entries, rosters, and event seeding. The primary difficulty is that Hy-Tek files are proprietary binary containers; you cannot simply double-click to view them in Excel or a text editor. Coaches often need to convert these to CSV or PDF to create readable reports or import data into other management systems without buying a software license.
