About SBA files
The .SBA file extension serves multiple distinct purposes, which often causes confusion. Most commonly, it is a proprietary game asset file used by Electronic Arts (EA) for the Need for Speed franchise, storing textures and game data. Another prominent gaming use is as an animation and background container for the classic LucasArts adventure game The Dig. These gaming formats are closed-source, proprietary binary containers. Because of this, standard online converters fail to process them, and you cannot easily convert them to standard formats like PNG or JPG without dedicated modding tools.
Outside of gaming, an .SBA file frequently functions as a SMART Notebook Archive developed by SMART Technologies. Unlike game assets, these are simply standard ZIP archives containing digital whiteboard assets. Additionally, the extension is sometimes used as an XML-based Secure Business Attachment container by German BSI Secure Mailgateways or as a Samsung Backup Archive.
This format is difficult to open because you must first determine which software created it. If our analysis detects a supported underlying format like ZIP or XML, extraction and viewing become straightforward.
Convert.Guru analyzes your SBA file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
