About RVD files

A .rvd file typically serves one of four highly specialized purposes. It most commonly contains vibration analysis data captured by IMV Corporation CardVibro Air hardware. Alternatively, it is used for 3D engineering model reviews in AVEVA Review, as a document file generated by Rave Reports or eDocPrinter, or as a Turkish judiciary document within the UYAP Informatics System.

The main disadvantage of .rvd files is their severely fragmented and proprietary nature. Because the extension is shared across fundamentally different industries, users often struggle to identify the correct software to open it. If the file is an AVEVA 3D review or IMV vibration data set, you are locked into expensive, specialized ecosystems. These binary formats cannot be opened natively by operating systems, do not display in web browsers, and restrict data portability.

To share this data, you must export it from the original software. AVEVA models should be exported to standard CAD targets like STEP or IGES. Rave Reports should be printed to PDF. Interestingly, Turkish UYAP .rvd files are often just renamed RTF (Rich Text Format) files. Converting these to DOCX or PDF makes them universally accessible. Standard online converters almost always fail to process binary .rvd files because they lack the proprietary decoding libraries.

This file format is difficult to open or convert externally because often only the original software can properly read or export the data. We can inspect the file and show text or internal content. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format - such as the RTF structure in UYAP documents - viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your RVD file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted RVT, TOC, WSS and CLC files.

The RVD Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our RVD converter.
