Primarily, it is a Wages Protection System (WPS) return file used by the Emirates Wages Protection System to process employee salary payments. Secondly, it functions as a Rainbow table for cryptographic hash cracking in security software like Hashcat and RainbowCrack. Less commonly, it acts as an MDM (Mobile Device Management) removal file for the RTC Tool, or a legacy connection file for the discontinued Microsoft Live Meeting platform.
The current formats present massive disadvantages for everyday users. WPS return files are localized, proprietary text structures. If you open a WPS .RTC file in a standard spreadsheet tool, it frequently strips leading zeros from ID numbers, instantly corrupting the government payment file.
