About RLT files
The .RLT file format is primarily used by Instron testing systems and their Bluehill Universal software to store materials testing results, such as tensile strength, load limits, and compression data. In other contexts, it is utilized as a compressed installer data archive by the FreeArc utility, an automation text resource library for B&R Automation Studio, or for electrophysiology analysis results in Molecular Devices Clampfit. Because .RLT files are highly proprietary, sharing them with colleagues or clients who do not possess a paid, specialized license like Bluehill Universal is incredibly frustrating. The raw test data is locked inside an obscure extension, making it difficult to analyze in standard spreadsheet software or upload to a web database. Furthermore, downloading specialized viewers simply to check a single test result is a waste of time. To make this data useful, you need to convert it.
